Tina's Plumbing (guys you can skip if you want)

I had my gyno appointment today. Ultrasound still shows thickened endometrium (even with menopause and having a reasonably heavy period). She wasn't able to do the biopsy because she couldn't get through my cervix. (I know...TMI!). Anyway, as suspected, I'll have to have a D&C for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Scheduled for Feb. 19. What fun!

Sorry to hear that! Good luck and hopefully everything will be back in order when we see you in February.

What we females have to go through. Is that just a quick in & out (sorry for the bad pun) procedure? Fun is.

I don't think it's too quick, because it involves general anesthesia. However, it is outpatient.

That doesn't sound like fun. Are you having pain or is it just heavy bleeding? Now a D&C is like "cleaning the pipes" right? Can they determine what's causing your problems from that?

No pain, just continuous bleeding, sometimes heavy but mostly spotting. Yes, D&C is like Roto-Rooter (as ROsey so eloquently put it). The doctor says that they'll be able to take tissue samples to see if there is an underlying problem other than just menopause. However, it just isn't acting like menopause. So, we'll see what's up soon.
