Haven't seen any updated posts on the blog or emails recently from anyone. Is everybody okay out there? Mike, I have gotten your emails about watching Forrest and your census taking job so thanks for that.
What's the plan for meals at the Cape? I'm happy to contribute breakfast foods (eggs, bacon, bread, english muffins, pancake mix, and syrup) and even cook it up since I tend to be an early riser.
Karen, how's Chris doing? Did he go to work Monday?
Hope all is well in Barnowski land!

It has been quiet out there up until today. Patty starts a new blog and Mike sends an email about his troubles. Not sure about the meals except I do know Karen is making lobster rissotto Saturday night. I guess everyone can just contribute $$ or whatever else to the feed bag.
I have a tenderloin roast that I can contribute although it won't feed everyone unless we slice it thin and use it as an accompaniment to the risotto (sort of a surf and turf thing) or for people who don't like the risotto. I could bring some Omaha filets that I have to supplement as well and even have a package of Bearnaise sauce that I'll bring to go with. Add a salad or other vegs and you got yourself some feast! I'll plan to do the breakfast thing as well.
I don't check the blog site everyday.... maybe every fourth day. All is well here. Kathy is bringing Friday dinner. I think she's roasting an ox, with turnips.
I also have 4 tenderloin steaks I can bring to add to the pile.
I heard Mike B. volunteered to make breakfast one day.
Tina
I am planning the rissotto as a side dish so any meat would be a good accompaniment also with salad and veggies. I was just thinking about when everyone was going to arrive on Friday and what to do for dinner. If Kathy's planning something, that's great. Chris is doing fine. I drove him to work on Wednesday, he made it about 1/2 day. He drove himself Thursday and Friday and made it a whole day.

So, I guess nobody is interested in going to either of the local restaurants I found that sounded good? At least not for dinner. Maybe a lunch.
Karen - are you still considering going to the Vineyard for lunch on Sunday? Would we need our vehicles or is the restaurant you were thinking of right where the ferry lands?
Tina
Yes for lunch on the vineyard. For something like this, we usually just take a taxi to Edgartown. If we do light lunch, we can try a restaurant of your choosing for dinner that night.
Karen
So we should account for ferry fare to MV on Sunday? Okay, sounds like a plan. Should we do lunch on MV Saturday and then do a nice dinner out on Sunday instead?
I've got enough tenderloin roast for at least 5 people maybe 6 - we can make it into filet mignon's - and I can bring 4 filet mignon's. Sounds like with Rosey's contribution we should have enough for everyone.
How many total are there going to be?
Oh yeah, John, can Kathy make a buffalo instead of ox? And can she do rutabaga instead of turnip? I think everyone would like that better!
I plan to provide for and make breakfast on Sunday, but I want to check the kitchen out. As an alternative maybe we could invade the hotel for breakfast - I'd pony up for all the birthday people. If cooking I plan to shop up there.
Menu:
Spam, bacon, sausage, toast, juice, coffee & eggs. I don't really do pancakes or waffles, but if someone wants to make the batter, I can cook it. Oh yeah, either Annie's potatoes or something from the market.
Help wanted: one ot two servants and a toaster person.
I volunteer for waiting or toast, and I'm sure Mike wouldn't mind getting into the action. Patty: I wasn't planning on going to MV at all, especially since everyone was going on Sunday and Mike and I will be coming home. I'm just as happy to sit around the house and walk on the beach.
Sorry, you and Mike are both birthday babes and ineligible for employment.
Mike, I already bought bacon (3 lbs.) and was planning to bring all the other breakfast fixin's (don't you read the blog?) I'm going to get eggs at the farm, hash (not Spam so feel free to bring that), pancake batter mix, and english muffins, rye bread, and ciabatta bread for toast. If you want, you can do the coffee, orange juice, cranberry juice, and milk. How does that sound?
I have a big jug of orange juice I am bringing.
Karen
Oh yeah, Ryan wants to bring his waffle maker - so we'll have that also.
Sounds like we are all set for breakfast. It also sounds like it may take until lunch to make and serve everyone. (HA)
