Old Western - Message?

I watched a 1952 movie called "The Bushwhackers", about a confederate vet who vows never to pick up a gun again, and moves west away from the turmoil and approaching Unionists. Of course he gets involved in a war between - the old/big landowner (grabber) who wants squatters (settlers) off the land so he can lease or sell to the railroads. Killing those who don't move on. Typical western plot. Of course the settlers (the good guys) have government deeds to there plot of land - reward for service, or just Manifest Destiny expanding westward. Okay, so who's side you on ... the murderous capitalist who claims first ownership (after the Natives, of course), or the farmer families with the socialistic handouts?

I'm for the feudal overlords, not the stinkin' peasants and their plump, randy daughters! Always was.

Like my favorite classic, Silverado. The good guys always win!

Ah. All the randy daughters were either dead or orphaned by the mean old feudal lord (played by Lon Chaney Jr.) - and his avaricious daugher. They both died, thus, must have been the bad guys. The good guys were led by the fiesty daughter of the liberal pressman. Damn commies!
